Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Remarq, LLC (“Remarq,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Remarq Chrome extension and related services (the “Service”).

1. Information We Collect

We collect only what’s necessary to operate the Service.

Information you provide

  • License key — issued through Lemon Squeezy at purchase. Used to authenticate your subscription.
  • ICP (Ideal Customer Profile) and Goal — text you enter in the extension settings to personalize comment generation. Stored locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local.
  • Email address — if you sign up for our waitlist or newsletter via the Remarq website (collected through Typeform).

Information collected automatically during use

  • LinkedIn post text — when you click “Generate,” the text of the LinkedIn post you’re commenting on is sent to our backend and then to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce a comment draft. We do not store post text after the generation completes.
  • Usage counters — we track the number of comments generated and inserted per license key, per month, to enforce plan limits. This is stored in Cloudflare KV under your license key.
  • Minimal technical metadata — IP address and standard HTTP headers may be logged transiently by Cloudflare for security and abuse prevention. We do not maintain long-term server logs or analytics cookies on the extension itself.

2. How We Use Information

  • To operate the Service (generate comments, enforce plan limits, authenticate subscriptions)
  • To communicate with you about the Service (launch updates, subscription emails)
  • To detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms
  • To comply with legal obligations

3. Third Parties We Share With

We share information only with service providers necessary to run Remarq:

  • Anthropic— LinkedIn post text, your ICP, and your Goal are sent to Anthropic’s API to generate comment drafts. Anthropic does not train its models on this data. See anthropic.com/privacy.
  • Cloudflare — hosts our backend Worker and the Cloudflare KV store that holds your license key’s usage counters.
  • Lemon Squeezy — handles all payments, billing, and license key issuance. Lemon Squeezy receives the information you provide during checkout (name, email, payment details). See lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
  • Typeform — handles waitlist email collection on our website. See typeform.com/privacy.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers.

4. Data Retention

  • LinkedIn post text — not stored. Sent to Anthropic for processing and discarded after the response returns.
  • License keys and usage counters — retained as long as your subscription is active, plus 12 months for audit/support purposes.
  • ICP and Goal — stored only on your device. Removed when you uninstall the extension or clear your browser data.
  • Email addresses from Typeform — retained until you request removal or we archive the waitlist at product launch.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under privacy laws such as the GDPR (EU), CCPA (California), and similar regulations. These may include:

  • The right to access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • The right to request correction or deletion of your data
  • The right to withdraw consent for future processing
  • The right to data portability

6. Children’s Privacy

Remarq is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including:

  • Sending all communication over HTTPS (TLS)
  • Storing license key data in Cloudflare KV (not in the browser or on any public server)
  • Not holding any third-party API keys in the browser — all AI calls go through our server

No security measure is perfect. If you become aware of a security issue, contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy over time. Changes will be reflected by an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated on the website or via email.
